I have traveled extensively with mine. They fit nicely in an overhead bin on an airplane. Even a bin that is "full" usually has a nice gap of space on top of the suitcases and bags that the guitar will fit nicely in to. I highly recommend putting it into a full bin on top of suitcases and other bags. Putting it into an empty bin is just asking other passengers to throw their heavy crap on top of it.

Setting aside travel, these guitars are still a great value. Make no mistake; this is not some entry-level guitar made with crummy parts and assembled with poor construction and then marked up due to its convenience for travel. Nay; this is a great instrument on its own. Action, intonation, relief, fretwork and feel are all great. They are built as solid as a rock and stay in tune very well.

I do recommend a string adapter, though. It will allow you to use any set of strings you want, You won't have to keep extra sets of strings specifically for that guitar. It's not worth the inconvenience to locate and order double-ball strings, and then be limited to whichever manufacturers make double-ball strings, and then to have to continually make sure you have extras of that one set in case a string breaks.

Feel free to ask any other questions about it!
    Thanks for the extensive help!

I'm currently trying to work out price with the dude. Hopefully I can get this picked-up soon. I have a trip to El Salvador coming up and it would be perfect to bring with me.

That's right! Pair that guitar with a Line 6 Pocket POD, a nice pair of studio headphones and an aux cable (to jam with a song played through your phone or computer), and you will have a travel rig that is very light, portable, sounds great and won't break the bank.
Resident Schecter fanboy - Line 6 - NYXL - too much gain

This user has gone 35 days without purchasing a guitar.

Yeah man, I have a set of Audio Technica headphones and I go right into my MacBook Pro via my tiny interface.

But I've never figured out how to get the guitar part down, but I'm going to meet with the guy tonight and grab it.

Some great stuff here. That G&L is a stupid good price, I saw that one for sale online a few months ago and now it's even cheaper. I just wish it was any finish other than clear.

Oh man that G&L is a smoking deal. That's what, half of what they are normally going for?

Yeah good deal... the McCarty is very good as well (strange color). If the SG was near me in Mass I'd be interested for 350. I wonder how the Duisenberg term is and if it has a nice 50's neck.

Yeah I was tempted to snag that myself, but my WRX went an did an explode so now I'm building a fancy engine for it that's exhausting my savings.
